Boynton Yards is a 3.5-acre site located adjacent to the cultural amenities of Somerville’s Union Square and Cambridge’s Inman Square, and less than one mile from Kendall Square – an epicenter of biotechnology and life sciences.
We have played a key role as a subcontractor on this project. The mass excavation and building footprint is 118 feet wide and 239 feet long. On average, it’s between 33 and 38 feet deep with a maximum depth of 43 feet.
In addition to excavating the foundation site, we installed the infrastructure for water, drainage, sewer, electrical, and telecommunications. We also restored the adjacent road, adding a curb and sidewalks. Shortly after we began work on the utility infrastructure, the state ordered the closure of all nonessential worksites due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this setback, we were able to successfully get the project back up to speed.
